Florindo Belo Marques

Florindo Belo Marques, Architect. Born in 1952 in Portalegre, living in Portugal in Coimbra and Lisbon. Graduated in Architecture from the E.S.B.A.L. (1978), Planning option. Admitted to the Portuguese Architects' Association in 1978 under number 1129.

In 1975, as a student, he founded the Architecture Students' Association with a group of colleagues, and was a member of the association until 1977.

In 1978 he joined the GAT (Technical Support Office) in Fi¬gueira da Foz and in 1979 he joined the senior technical staff of the GAT in Lousã. In 1982 he joined the Direc¬tion of Regional Services for Monuments of the Centre in Coim¬bra, where he worked as Principal Architect until April 1989.

He has also been self-employed since 1979.

He has experience in Urban Planning, Building Design (Housing and Equipment), Interior Design and also in the Recovery, Restoration and Revitalisation of Classified Buildings and Complexes.

He was a member of the C.M.S.P.A.P. - Municipal Council for the Safeguarding of the Architectural and Landscape Heritage of Coimbra City Council and of Interministerial Working Groups also concerned with the safeguarding of the architectural and cultural heritage.

He was elected President of NARC - Núcleo de Arquitectos da Região de Coimbra, a structure of the Northern Regional Section of the Portuguese Architects' Association, for the three-year terms 2002 - 2004, 2005 - 2007, 2008 - 2010 and 2011 - 2013.
